Ozzy Osbourne – From Heavy Drug Use to Health Struggles

Ozzy Osbourne was not only a rockstar, but also a person who suffered deeply because of drugs.
Many people don’t know that Ozzy was once addicted to drugs when he was young. He used marijuana (weed), cocaine, alcohol, and many other dangerous substances every day.
He once said in an interview:
“I don’t even remember some years of my life. That’s how much I was high.”

But Later… Ozzy Changed
After some time, Ozzy realized his mistake. He became more aware and stopped using drugs.
Not only that, he started telling people to stay away from drugs.
He said:
“I’ve been through hell. Drugs destroyed my body. Don’t make the same mistake I did.”
Ozzy didn’t just suffer from 1 or 2 health problems — he had many serious diseases. Most of these were because of heavy drug and alcohol use during his early life.

1. Parkinson’s Disease
A brain disease that slowly affects body movement.
Causes shaking, slow walking, and stiffness.
He was diagnosed in 2019.
Ozzy had a rare form of Parkinson’s called PRKN2.
“It’s like living in a fog. My body doesn’t listen to me anymore,” he once said.
2. Serious Spinal Injuries
In 2003, he had an ATV bike accident and broke his neck, collarbone, and ribs.
In 2019, he fell again in his house, which made things worse.
He had to go through multiple back and neck surgeries.
He said this injury changed his life completely.
3. Breathing Problems (Emphysema)
He had a lung condition called emphysema, which made it hard to breathe.
He often used oxygen support during travel and stage shows.
This was worsened by years of smoking and drugs.

4. Weak Immune System
Because of drugs and surgeries, his body became very weak.
He easily caught infections and needed long rest and recovery.
5. Mobility Problems – Couldn’t Walk
In his final years, he said:
“I can’t walk properly. I’m not dying, but I’m not living either.”
He used a wheelchair and a throne-like chair during his last concert.
6. Memory Loss & Mental Confusion
Due to drugs and Parkinson’s, he often forgot things, got confused, and couldn’t talk clearly.
In interviews, he said:
“Sometimes I can’t even remember names of people I see every day.”
Message to Fans – Don’t Do Drugs
Even after becoming clean, Ozzy warned fans:
“You want to be a rockstar? That’s fine. But don’t use drugs. They’ll destroy your life.”
He turned his pain into a lesson for others. That’s why many people respect him, even if they didn’t like his early behavior.
Final Days and Death
Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76.
He was surrounded by family and passed away peacefully.
But his death was not sudden — it came after years of pain caused by his old drug habits.
